Make a drawing of objects around the room, pile them on your table, for instance, that use all three to make an illusion of space. Use line and edge - do not shade and create the surface.
remember there are three ways to create an image in three dimensions - overlap, chiaroscuro, and perspective.

Work on your sketchbook work and put it on your blog.
all students - make sure your blog is up to date. Consider today a 'sketch book' day. Draw from life or create an idea for a finished work.
We will talk more about the sketchbook assignments when I return. Make sure you have a website TODAY!
Use the contact form to send me your URL EVERYONE make your first weekly blog post by Monday - or face a zero for that assignment. The scanner works! I'll do a blog post in class to demo it. Make art over the week-end - I know I will because 'Learning Never Ends!' Make sure you take a snap-shot of your collage with a camera - your cell phone might work - and look at it in black and white. What are the values like? Do they range from 0 - 10? (total white to total black)
How would you describe the composition? Which way does it move? Does it move at all? Does it have rhythm? Emphasis? Unity? Contrast? Using an art department computer you need to set up your weebly website. It should include three blog pages - sketchbook updates, weeklly class work, theme blog and gallery page. See the model on the last tab on this page - 'Theme Page."
You website will be the ultimate tool for determining your grade. Your work will be scaned or photographed and put on line. We have cameras, scanners as well as photo-shop. We will all make sure we put our best images forward. You can also stay after school at least until three and some days later. It is a good idea to keep good quality photos of your work in an on line storage site - there is a free one on 'hotmail' so you can work on photos here as well as anywere you have the internet or a computer. Pick an art element
-Line/edge, Shape (2-d), Form (3-d), Texture, Simulated Texture, aerial perspective (chiaroscuro), liner perspective, color, and value ... Using a monochromatic pallet make a collage on a piece of watercolor paper that shows one of these art elements. Make sure everyone in your group has a different art element. Cut or tear the paper and arrange in a dynamic composition - look for spacial readings - remember brighter values come forward. when you have an idea - paste down the elements with a mixture of glue thinned with water. Cover the top when dry with acrylic medium for shine. When you are done scan it and get it on your web page. You can also add updates to your blog about how you were progressing on the project. Hello to all new students. :)
lets look over classroom expectations for the semester. Let's go to the classroom covenant tab... the big picture tab.... advanced project tab.... let's look at my template page to see what you're website will be like let's look at links and other links contact form - please contact me on this form when you have your website made. check the schedule - AP students - notice new blog - it is your responsibility to check here to get ready for the exam!
