Ceramics - all levels pds. 3,4,5,6 room 105

Picture
Mount Si has an excellent ceramics facility. We have three kilns, fourteen electric wheels, two kick wheels as well as a number of great tools. The room itself is very well laid out and easy to work in.

It is not unusual for a student to study ceramics for a number of successive semesters and even years. The more time spent - the deeper the learning.

Students are learning a lot more than how to make clay pots - we plan, learn design elements to understand the 3-dimensional objects around us, and use our skills to think and create in  three- space!

I am constantly impressed with the quality and originality of my students work.

There is $20 materials fee due at the beginning of the semester. See counseling center for other funding possibilities.

Advanced Drawing and Panting pd. 1 - room 103

Picture
Advanced Drawing and Painting is for those kids who just can't get enough time to draw and paint. They feel driven to make images. They tend to be the kind of kids who are drawing on their worksheets in other classes ...
It is essential that a student have that kind of inner motivation to work at this level.

Students will make blog/websites on Weebly - and present their project at the end of the semester. The first part of the semester will be mostly assignment and skills based, the second quarter will focus on the student's project which should have a main idea - a theme.

Prerequisite - recommendation from me or  Mr. Meserve based on previous grades in art and portfolio review.

There is $20 materials fee due at the beginning of the semester. See counseling center for other funding possibilities.
