Grading in advanced art
Students must have a sketchbook and be sketching in it as homework about 4 hours a week. Some of these sketches should be bloged.
Your blog must be updated at least weekly and the updates will be graded.
The first part of the semester will have a lot of teacher driven assignments - but the second half will be mostly student driven. The student must be very motivated and have a sense of their own vision - they will need to create a gallery of personal work and put it in an on-line gallery website on Weebly.
Advanced students will make a web site/blog on weebly that will be linked to this one. They will upload images and comments at least weekly or as often as things are finished. It is a good idea to even upload images of works in progress. Students are encouraged to look at peer's blogs and leave constructive feedback. At the end of the semester advanced students will make a formal presentation of their work from this site. (It will be about 7-10 minutes.) This will be a major part of your grade!
The grade is 40% assignments, 40% personal work and web presentation and 20% participation.
