Last galze day for this quarter.

Monday grading closes - clean out lockers - no bats or tools - take home finished projects and organize notes for next quarter.

Next Tuesday will be an all period clean up!

pd three - sweeping and getting rid of dry clay - move wheels and fixures - no water

pd. four - sponges and clean water - wipe down all surfaes, clean bats, rings, bukcets, walls and wheels - stay in main room

Pd five - re-do and clean all tool boxes and other tools

pd. six - clean glaze room, insides of cabinets.
 
For all students - remember - the quarter review is your account of what has happened and what you have completed. If there are any special circumstances - to explain why something is not quite finished - then you need to doucment it - don't just tell me.


Advanced students must have the quarter review on the blog tomorrow...
copy and paste it from this site (from the documents page) into a word, works or notepad program and put in your information.

Remember the report is where you report on your progress! If there are any special circumstances - report them here!!

First semester students use cover sheet to put your notes in order, wirte the response and turn in tomorrow.

Again, the bisque is out tomorrow for last chance projects due Monday. Only one per students!

You need to turn in your notes for that project on Friday if you are going to get credit for it.

If you cannot finish all your assignments for this quarter then they can be turned in as extra credit next quarter - only if the assigned projects are completed and graded!
 
Advanced students - find the document on the ceramics doucments page.

Copy and past it into a word or wordpad document - fill in the lines, write your paragraph and save it on a seperate page of your website titled - Quareter Review.

This will take the place of your packet. Check your graades againts the ones in skyward. Any questions see me today.

Begining Students -

pick up the quarter 'cover sheet' attatch your notes to it in chronogical order.

This must be turned in on Friday. If you are waiting for a project to come out of the kiln on Monday - turn in the notes on Friday and you will get the packet

Actual quareter ends on the second - however it won't change our schedual I still need work in and finished by the first and the packet on the 29.

If you let a project dry out - it's a goner!

Only one project grade per student on Monday ... all others must be in before that so Ms. H does not go CRAZY

The main thing about making a bowl is using a rib tool to round it our.
Everything starts from a cylinder.

We have one more week before the end of the quarter. All projects are due by next Friday Oct 29. Packet due on Monday Nov oneth.

The bisque is out Monday - it will run again Monday - out Wednesday. Last bisque for the quarter.

Make sure you have both elbows attatched to your body!!



Make sure you are close to the wheel - spine not twisted and leaning over so your nose is over the center point.

To center start with the left hand going in slowly until the uneven clay from the side is pushed up - then push in and down evenly and it will come to center.

Review the steps before you throw - know if your are
centering

opening
making a base
compressing the base
pulling the wall
compressing the lip
trimming the lip
and finish by trimming the base

Check them againts Skyward.  grade is X/60 projects = 60% of grade - the rest is participation, cleaning, listening, being on time, and notes are 15%.

YOUR FIRST WHEEL ASSIGNMENT SHOULD BE DONE THIS WEEK IF IT IS GOING TO BE ON TIME.
