Ms. H
A tea pot from Spring 2009
In this teapot I began to use pulled clay - much like the clay we make handles from to make a functional and useful top for the lid. It is a round teapot with an inset lid that has been thrown up side down. The fitting for the lid on the body has a inner lip so that they fit well together and do not slip when it is used. The outside is very smooth and there are only a few marks where the handle and spout have been attached. The glaze is overall white with shadow green adding depth to the glass and emphasis to the top. The sinuous pulled forms on the lid, the round shape and soft color work together to evoke a sense of balanced slow movement.

As an advanced student you will have to maintain a web blog - please make sure you set one up in the first week.
